When you hear the word “downtown” you imagine tall glass building, numerous shops, restaurants, bars, offices, one-way streets, lots of people and lots of traffic. Downtown Jacksonville is not like that at all. While it has a few tall buildings and maybe some of the characteristics above, it is far away from being busy and noisy, but that’s what makes it so special.
It takes less than an hour to go around every block. There is construction everywhere, new skyscrapers, old abandoned building, apartments, a few local restaurants and coffee shops. I love visiting the library, the Chamblin Bookmine, Urban Coffee shop, Sweet Pete’s and of course all the murals.
